Background and Award Information

The California Air Resources Board is seeking applications for community-led projects that prepare for long-term clean transportation investments. Eligible project types include community outreach and education around clean transportation options, transportation needs assessments, plans that connect clean mobility to public health, workforce training programs for clean transportation careers, school-based planning for electric school buses, and early-stage collaboration or partnership-building. A total of $7.3 million is available through this solicitation. The maximum funding amount available for each grant is $500,000. Eligible lead applicants include community-based organizations, Tribal governments, local governments, and public schools. Subapplicants may include any of the above, as well as consultants, private companies, nonprofits, utilities, and air districts.

Q&A sessions will be held January 8 and January 27, 2026.

The deadline to submit a Technical Assistance Request Form is January 23, 2026.

Applications are due February 10, 2026.
