Background and Award Information

The City of Tacoma is soliciting proposals to establish one or more contracts with qualified vendors to provide the turnkey delivery of equipment, materials, and personnel necessary to construct one, fully functioning Federal Railroad Administration compliant battery-electric locomotive that will be charged using a reverse pantograph style charging system. There is an estimated $5 million in funding available.
