Background and Award Information

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is accepting applications from locomotive owners to receive grant funds to partially fund pre-Tier 4 engine freight switcher locomotive repower or replacement in Minnesota with cleaner Tier 4 diesel engines or zero-emission motors. The MPCA anticipates awarding approximately $1.4 million for freight switcher locomotive repower/replacement projects.
