Background and Award Information

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) has announced the second round of its Diesel Modernization Program, providing funding to replace medium- and heavy-duty diesel vehicles (MHDV) with electric. NJDEP is making $35 million available for local government vehicle electrification projects, such as shuttles, transit buses, garbage trucks, dump trucks, and Type A/B school bus replacements. Awards will include flat incentive amounts based on vehicle type and class.
