Background and Award Information

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) has announced the opening of Round 2 of the Electric School Bus Grant Program, which will provide funding to replace diesel school buses with battery-electric school buses. Through this program, NJDEP expects to provide $15 million per year for three years to support schools moving towards electric school buses.

Eligible Applicants

Eligible applicants include school districts that own their buses and school bus contractors that provide busing services to schools. School bus contractors must apply in conjunction with a specified school or school district.
