‍Background and Award Information

The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality has re-opened applications for the Fiscal Year 2023–2024 Oklahoma Clean Diesel grant program. Approximately $650,000 in funding is available to replace diesel school buses with new diesel, gasoline, battery-electric, propane, or natural gas school buses ahead of normal attrition. The state may fund up to 45% of the cost of a 2021 model year or newer zero-emission replacement vehicle. This cost can include the purchase and installation of one charging unit per vehicle. Eligible applicants include all Oklahoma school districts transporting Pre-K–12 students. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all funding has been awarded.
