Background and Award Information

Starting on October 8, 2025, the Washington Department of Ecology will be offering $25 million in grants for truck, freight switcher, tug boat, and other vehicle upgrades from diesel to zero emission. The “Rails, Keels, and Wheels” grant is meant to fund projects that replace or repower vehicles which use diesel engines.

Eligible Applicants

Businesses licensed in Washington, non-profits, public organizations, and Tribal governments are eligible to apply.
