Background and Award Information

The Washington Department of Commerce has announced the availability of $9 million in funding for clean energy projects that are led by and benefit tribes and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, accelerate meeting state clean energy and climate goals, enhance tribal sovereignty and resiliency, and demonstrate innovative approaches to decarbonization through tribe-led and controlled clean energy resources. Awards will range from $50,000 to $2.5 million. Applications submitted under this request for applications (RFA) will also be considered for funding made available through the Clean Energy Grants RFA.

Important Dates

A pre-application conference will be held October 15, 2025 and questions will close October 24, 2025. Applications are due November 4, 2025.
