Position Summary
This full-time position encompasses two main responsibilities: providing general project support to mid- and senior-level staff as an Associate and serving as the Office Manager for our St. Paul office.
CTE partners with professional associations in the zero-emission transit industry to help advance adoption of zero-emission buses and provide support to transit agencies interested in fleet electrification. CTE is seeking an entry-level Associate to directly support the administration of two zero-emission transit associations and the many transit electrification programs that they impact. CTE’s industry partners consist of stakeholders from transit agencies, educational institutions, and the private sector. This position will be part of a team that works with zero-emission transit leaders across the country to share zero-emission bus knowledge and best practices. This position will also have the opportunity to gain valuable experience on other medium and heavy-duty electric vehicle demonstration and deployment projects. CTE manages battery electric and fuel cell vehicle projects at all stages of the project life cycle including proposal writing, planning, procurement, vehicle and infrastructure design and manufacturing, deployment, and vehicle performance monitoring and reporting. Prior experience with zero-emission vehicles is not needed, but attention to detail and the ability to support multiple projects simultaneously are key.
This position will also serve as the St. Paul Office Manager, assisting with general office management and human resource tasks in support of a 10-person staff. This position will also provide clerical and administrative support to members of our leadership team. Prior experience in human resources is not needed. The ideal candidate is attentive, professional, polite, and willing to meet each challenge directly. The ability to communicate effectively – verbally, visually, and in writing – and support and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously are key.

Responsibilities
- Support senior- and mid-level managers as part of a project team
- Maintain a strong attention to detail
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
- Develop and maintain working relationships with remote clients, partners, and stakeholders
- Get up to speed quickly on zero-emission vehicle technologies and their applications
- Maintain association web presences, including public websites, LinkedIn pages, and private member portals
- Interface with association boards in a professional manner; participate in committee meetings
- Manage diverse membership of associations including member databases, member portal access, and contacts
- Execute association events and attend conferences as a representative of the professional associations some text
- Specific duties in support of our professional transit organization partners include:
- Meeting Support
- Draft meeting agendas for board committees
- Record meeting minutes and track action items
- Calendar Management
- Schedule meetings, provide agendas and Zoom information, and send meeting reminders
- New Member Onboarding
- Coordinate & track the membership onboarding process to include login portal information, invoicing, and general onboarding
- Update and maintain contact database for association members
- Monthly/Quarterly Reporting
- Summarize monthly/quarterly activities by category
- Communications
- Answer and direct phone calls and emails for general inquiries
- Meeting Support
- Manage a stock of supplies by ordering items, including but not limited to computer hardware, stationary, cleaning products, and food/beverage
- Maintain a neat office environment through routine cleaning and tidying
- Organize the office to maximize space and create intuitive storage systems
- Organize staff events and activities (e.g. lunches, outings, etc.)
- Assist HR with compliance measures, including annual reporting requirements and DOL and OSHA updates
Required Qualifications
- Proficient with Microsoft Office & Google Workspace applications
- Demonstrated history of collaboration and teamwork
- Proficient in English writing
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Event planning and logistics coordination experience
- Non-profit administration experience
- Educational outreach and networking experience
- Salesforce familiarity

CTE is seeking a full-time Engineering Associate to provide technical analysis to transportation electrification projects. This position will use analytic tools such as Excel, Python scripts, simulations, databases, and data visualization tools on a daily basis. This role also offers the opportunity to further develop leadership skills over time with both client interactions and improving CTE’s technical processes and tools. Job duties may also include administrative work such as technical report writing, presentations to audiences with a variety of backgrounds, facilitating meetings with clients, and supporting grant applications.
