Background and Award Information

The Washington Department of Ecology has announced the availability of $25 million in funding for projects that will transition switcher locomotives, tugboats, emergency vehicles, paratransit, and other medium-and heavy-duty local freight vehicles to all-electric models to reduce toxic diesel emissions from diesel vehicles, engines, and equipment in Washington. Eligible applicants include organizations licensed in Washington State as well as state, local, and tribal governments and related entities.
