Background and Award Information

The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs is now accepting applications from government and non-governmental entities in Alabama seeking to update equipment to reduce NOx emissions. Eligible project types include repower or replacement of Class 8 freight trucks, port drayage trucks, Class 4-8 schools buses or transit buses, and Class 4-7 freight trucks, including battery electric replacements. Additionally, non-road equipment, locomotives and commercial marine vessels are eligible for repower or replacement.

Important Dates

An application workshop will be held September 1, 2026 and applications are due October 6, 2026.
