Background and Award Information

The California Energy Commission has announced the availability of more than $79 million in grant funding to deploy high-powered, direct current fast charging infrastructure to support medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicle travel along major corridors of the state highway system within the Los Angeles, Orange, Imperial, Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego counties. Eligible applicants include all private entities, excluding investor-owned utilities, as well as California Tribal Organizations serving California Native American Tribes.

A pre-application workshop will be held February 25, 2026 and applications are due May 7, 2026.
