Background and Award Information

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) has issued a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) under the Clean Corridor Coalition (C3), a multi-state effort funded by the U.S. EPA Climate Pollution Reduction Grant program. Up to $84,133,655 in funding is available to develop publicly and semi-publicly accessible charging sites for medium and heavy-duty electric vehicles along New Jersey's portions of the I-95 corridor and adjacent roads. Eligible lead applicants include local governments, corporations, joint ventures, LLCs, cooperatives, partnerships, sole proprietorships and individuals, educational institutions, and tribal organizations. NJDEP has capped awards at $20 million per site and there are no cost-share requirements. Sites must be located in New Jersey, meet a minimum 2.5 MW per site and 250 kW per port, and be within five miles of a designated C3 corridor interchange. This NOFA covers New Jersey sites only; Connecticut, Delaware, and Maryland will issue separate solicitations.
