Background Information
DOT has released the FY 2025 round of funding for the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) grant program. RAISE funds surface transportation infrastructure projects with significant local or regional impact. The FY 2025 RAISE program will have a total funding amount of $1.5 billion. Individual awards are capped at a maximum amount of $25 million. Eligible projects include capital projects such as those focused on public transportation, passenger and freight rail, port infrastructure, airport surface transportation, and surface transportation facilities. Planning projects are also eligible for funding, including zero-emission transition planning. Projects located in rural areas and in historically disadvantaged communities or areas of persistent poverty may be eligible for preferential cost share terms.
Eligible Applicants
Eligible applicants include state and local government entities, public agencies established by states, special purpose districts with transportation functions, including port authorities, Indian tribes, and transit agencies
Important Dates
Applications are due on January 30, 2025.
