Background and Award Information

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) National Grants Program provides funding to reduce diesel emissions through the replacement, retrofit, or upgrade of legacy diesel vehicles, engines, and equipment. Eligible projects may include school and transit buses, heavy-duty highway vehicles, locomotives, marine engines, and nonroad engines and equipment, with funding supporting cleaner and zero-emission replacement technologies.
