Background and Award Information
The Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) has issued a Program Opportunity Notice under its Leading by Example program to support Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) deployment at state facilities. Eligible state entities, including executive and non-executive branch agencies, quasi-public authorities, and public higher education institutions, may receive up to $300,000 in grant funds for EVSE acquisition, installation, and pre-wiring at state-owned facilities. Entities pursuing domicile EV charging for fleet drivers may receive up to $5,000 per installation, plus registration and first-year user fees. Applicants must commit to ordering one or more battery electric vehicles within 18 months of a signed agreement and must operate and maintain funded EVSE for at least five years. The total awarded funding will not exceed $627,390. Applications are reviewed and awarded on a rolling basis.
Important Dates
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through June 30, 2027, or until funding is exhausted. DOER reviews active applications on the 15th of each month.
