Background and Award Information

Update – The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has extended the current Electric Vehicle (EV) Rebate Program application cycle through May 31, 2026. The program provides $14 million to fund rebates for eligible new and used electric vehicles. Rebates are $2,000 per eligible vehicle, with low-income applicants eligible for an additional $2,000 (for a total of $4,000). Eligible motorcycles qualify for a $1,500 rebate. Vehicles must have a purchase price not exceeding $80,000. Applicants now have 180 days from the date of vehicle purchase to apply during an open application period.
