Background and Award Information

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) is accepting applications for the next cycle of its Electric Vehicle Rebate Program. Eligible applicants can receive a $2,000 rebate for a new or used electric vehicle, with an additional $2,000 available to low-income applicants for a total of $4,000, or $1,500 for an eligible electric motorcycle. Eligible vehicles must have a selling price under $80,000, be purchased (not leased) from an Illinois-licensed dealership, and not have received a previous rebate under this program. Applicants must be Illinois residents, and must retain ownership of the vehicle for at least 12 consecutive months. IEPA will begin accepting applications on August 1, 2026.
