Background and Award Information
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) has released an RFP for the 2026 Fuel Transformation Program, providing up to $28 million in competitive grant funding to support the replacement of diesel-powered vehicles, vessels, locomotives, and equipment with cleaner technologies. Funding is available for projects that replace and permanently retire eligible diesel equipment, with individual awards ranging from $50,000 to $5 million. Eligible applicants include public and private entities located in Michigan, and some projects may qualify for up to 100% funding depending on project type and ownership structure.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until funding is fully awarded.
