Background and Award Information

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has announced $8 million in funding through its Advanced Fuels & Thermal Energy program to support the development of low-carbon alternative fuel resources and infrastructure, aimed at reducing emissions in hard-to-electrify sectors including heavy-duty transportation. Proposals are accepted in two technical areas: Large-Scale Alternative Fuel-Based Resources and Alternative Fuel Cell Infrastructure (including fuel production, storage, and distribution systems). Funding is available under two categories: Product Development and Pilot and Demonstration.

Important Dates

Optional Letter of Intents are due September 7, 2026 and complete proposals are due September 28, 2026.
