Background and Award Information

The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RI DEM) is accepting applications for its State Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) Grant Program, funded through the U.S. EPA. The DERA program provides grants to independent owner operators, fleet operators, local businesses, and municipalities for projects that replace diesel on-road vehicles, non-road equipment, marine engines, and school buses with alternative fuel, low-NOx, fuel cell, or all-electric options. School bus replacements are limited to zero-emission vehicles only. RI DEM will provide applicants proposing zero-emission vehicle replacements bonus scoring over diesel or alternative fuel replacements.
