Background and Award Information

The City of Tacoma is soliciting proposals to establish one or more contracts with qualified vendors to provide the turnkey delivery of equipment, materials, and personnel necessary to construct two, fully functioning Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) compliant battery-electric locomotives that will be charged using reverse pantograph style charging systems. The estimate for this project is $14 million.
