Background and Award Information

The Seaport and Rail Yard Areas Emissions Reduction Program provides funding for persons or entities operating drayage trucks and cargo handling equipment at seaports and rail yards located within the air quality nonattainment areas of Texas. Activities eligible for funding include the replacement of older equipment with a new model or a repower. The equipment must emit a NOx at a rate that is at least 25% less than the engine being replaced. Available funding depends on the amount of revenue received into the Trust Fund.
