Background and Award Information

The Solar Interconnection Grant Program is administered by the Virginia Department of Energy and is intended to offset costs for projects that reduce energy expenditures and increase the deployment of clean energy. Virginia public bodies can apply for up to 25% of the total solar project costs or $600,000, whichever is less. Eligible costs include transformers, protection equipment, engineering, and other utility-related infrastructure needed to complete interconnection.
