Now Accepting Speakers for the International Zero Emission Bus Conference

April 21, 2020

CTE is pleased to officially announce this year's 2020 International Zero Emission Bus Conference! The conference is the premier event for electric bus fleet operators and technology partners and is planned to take place in Denver, Colorado on September 16-18.

CTE is now accepting abstract submissions. The deadline for abstracts submission is May 29th.

The eighth annual conference will encompass two days of zero-emission bus (ZEB) programming - including keynotes, panel sessions, break-out groups, and a bus expo - on Sept. 17th and 18th, with an optional ZEB 101 class available on Sept. 16th. Attendees can expect an engaging series of case studies and debates on the conference stage, as well as ample opportunities for networking and collaboration throughout the event.

Since 2011, CTE has hosted the ZEB Conference to educate industry professionals with practical information for making smart, informed electric bus and infrastructure decisions.  Our 2019 event welcomed over 500 attendees from around the world.

In 2020, we will continue these conversations on a global scale at the conference in Denver- home to zero-emission bus leader and 2020 conference host partner, the Regional Transportation District (RTD).

RTD has one of the largest ZEB fleets in the country consisting of 36 zero-emission vehicles- the 16th Street Free MallRide vehicles, operating in a key downtown corridor with 9.45 million boardings per year representing 9% of RTD's annual boardings.

The Emergence of New Markets

This year's conference will introduce content for and highlight the emergence of new markets such as electric school buses, airport shuttles, and university transportation fleets. Conference programming will also showcase the pivotal role utilities are playing in the transformation of these new markets.

"With Xcel Energy striving to be a national leader in fleet electrification, I found CTE's ZEB Conference to be an excellent source of information on what to expect as fleet operators scale up their electric vehicle projects. I'm very pleased the conference will be in Colorado this year, and I look forward to connecting with the local school bus, commercial fleets, and transit operators in our service area."

Stacey Simms, 2019 Conference Panelist and Senior Portfolio Manager of the Electric Vehicle Initiative for Denver-based utility Xcel Energy

Xcel aims to reduce carbon emissions by 80% by 2030 and deliver 100% carbon-free electricity to customers by 2050. As fleet operators nationwide begin to transition their fleets, utilities are also preparing to deliver the necessary infrastructure to support and power new advanced technology. CTE looks forward to highlighting and facilitating the operator and utility partnership at this year's conference.
