CTE Newsletter: November 2023

November 2, 2023

From the Director's Desk

With President Biden’s recent announcement of the winning bids for DOE’s Hydrogen Hub program, hydrogen is now firmly in the national discourse, if not the national spotlight. CTE and our members are well-positioned to take advantage of this momentum. Over the past several decades, CTE has deployed fuel cells in a wide range of transportation applications. These applications have included, but are not limited to, forklifts, utility vehicles, passenger cars, delivery vans, transit buses, and Class 8 drayage trucks. CTE has also planned and delivered more than 40 hydrogen refueling stations across the country to support these vehicle initiatives.

Now, as a key partner in ARCHES’ winning Hydrogen Hub proposal, CTE will manage the deployment of more than 1,000 fuel cell buses and will begin the process of adding thousands of Class 8 fuel cell trucks to the mix as well. CTE will also play a critical role in supporting the deployment of dozens of hydrogen stations across the state of California to fuel these vehicles. You can read more about this groundbreaking project and CTE’s role below.

I firmly believe nobody in the country has more experience coordinating transportation off-take to support hydrogen production than CTE. To that end, we are already in discussion with a couple of the other Hydrogen Hub winners to see how our staff and our members can help. As we have with every advancement in the clean transportation landscape over the past 30 years, CTE is ready to help operators take the next step toward their zero-emission future.
