The California Transit Training Consortium (CTTC) is a non-profit provider of technical training for the public transit industry in California. CTTC is a member-based organization that brings together transit agencies, community colleges, universities, and private partners to develop and deliver training courses for transit agency staff. The Center for Transportation and the Environment (CTE) works on behalf of the organization to administer the work of CTTC.
CTE works with each of CTTC’s committees and the CTTC board to achieve CTTC’s operational and strategic goals. Under the guidance of the Education Services Committee, CTE administers CTTC’s training program, currently a 16-course catalog with an assortment of online self-paced, online virtual instructor-led, and in-person instructor-led courses. CTE also works with this committee to set the annual course calendar, contract course instruction, host course registration, update course materials, and develop new courses.
Additionally, CTE works with the Membership and Marketing Committee to keep CTTC members engaged and effectively market CTTC’s services. As CTTC recently expanded to be a fully statewide organization, this committee’s efforts have focused on growing awareness and membership in Northern California.
Under the guidance of the Finance Committee and Grants Committee, CTE worked to develop Low or No Emission Vehicle Program workforce development support services for members pursuing funding for zero-emission buses. These support services included the delivery of training courses, the development of new zero-emission courses, and building apprenticeship programs.
Lastly, CTE works with the Executive Committee to keep CTTC’s strategic plan on track and ensure the effective and efficient running of the organization.
