The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) is issuing a Request for Interest (RFI) to identify qualified Design-Build teams interested in participating in the upcoming Design-Build Request for Qualifications/Proposals (RFQ/P). The project will consist of relocating existing battery-electric bus (BEB) charging infrastructure from inside an existing facility to a designated area within a secured employee parking lot. Information gathered through this RFI will assist KCATA in determining the level of industry interest and in refining the forthcoming RFQ/P, expected to be released before or on November 16, 2026. Contract award and project initiation are anticipated for February 2027.

Interested teams shall contact Kristen Emmendorfer, Procurement Director at kristene@kcata.org and copy Mary Ann Felts, mfelts@kcata.org and Bill Yord, Byord@kcata.org in order to receive an invitation to access Qualification/Proposal documents. The solicitation documents will be accessible and available on or before November 16, 2026, and close December 29, 2026.
