The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is requesting feedback from communities across New York state to assist in the development of the next round of the Clean Energy Communities (CEC) program, with an anticipated release in Spring 2026. The previous CEC program provided municipalities (county, city, town, or village governments) grants, coordinator support, and clear guidance for implementing a range of high-impact clean energy actions, to help municipalities save money, grow the local economy, and improve the environment. The development of the new CEC program may include suggested revisions to the previous version of this program, which is more fully described at this site. The program will continue to focus on High Impact Actions (HIAs), where municipalities can take actions to save energy and improve the environment. Municipalities will complete actions by complying with a specific set of requirements. Once municipalities complete an HIA, they are eligible to earn credit for the action. Responses can be submitted online via this form, and are due by March 20, 2026 at 3pm ET.
