In a historic win for zero-emission transportation, North America's first automated full-size transit buses will soon hit the road in Connecticut-and CTE is excited to play a crucial role.

This Earth Day, we are more appreciative than ever of the gifts we share on Earth, and we wanted to share what that looks like for us at CTE. From hammocks with laptops, to breathtaking smog-free skylines, to newly-formed compost piles, we are finding comfort in the places we call home.

CTE partnered with the University of Texas Center for Electromechanics and Hagerty Consulting to investigate and demonstrate a transportable power system that will give hybrid electric buses the capability to act as on-demand, mobile electrical-power generators. Once commercialized, this technology will be especially useful in emergency disaster response and recovery when traditional power supplies are slow to deploy, not available, or not reliable.

CTE sat down with Niki to chat about her projects, the new zero-emission bus opportunities she is most excited about, and her goals for reaching a sustainable transportation ecosystem.

CTE is pleased to officially announce this year's 2020 International Zero Emission Bus Conference! The conference is the premier event for electric bus fleet operators and technology partners and is planned to take place in Denver, Colorado on September 16-18. The Call for Abstracts is now open. The deadline for abstracts submission is May 29th.

CTE's Executive Director, Dan Raudebaugh, has been selected to provide testimony in front of the US House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee at their Climate Change Hearing this year. Initially slated for March 24, the event has now been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This will be the second climate-focused hearing held by the Full Committee in the 117th Congress.

The Center for Transportation and the Environment (CTE) is partnering with the Regional Transportation District (RTD) to host the International Zero Emission Bus Conference in Denver this September 16th-18th. The call for abstracts is now open. Registration will open in June.

CTE is working with the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) to deploy ten advanced design Fuel Cell Electric Buses (FCEBs) and commission the largest transit-operated hydrogen fueling station in the United States.
