What if a fuel cell bus didn’t need a battery pack to deliver reliable, high-performance service? Join the Center for Transportation and the Environment (CTE) and Nimbus Power Systems for results from the FTA TVIDC Fuel Cell Dominant Bus Proof of Concept project.
This webinar will share technical results, including performance, durability, system weight, and cost considerations compared to today’s more battery-dominant fuel cell buses. The project team will share how a load-following, fuel cell-dominant architecture using ultracapacitors could simplify propulsion systems, extend both fuel cell life and vehicle range to diesel-equivalent levels, and reduce total cost of ownership — key factors for agencies planning long-term zero-emission fleet transitions.
Designed for transit professionals, planners, and decision-makers, this webinar will also outline next steps for system validation and how this technology could support future pilot deployments in 40-foot transit and 45-foot coach bus applications.
