On September 9, 2025, the world will celebrate the sixth annual World EV Day™, a global movement that brings together communities, companies, and policymakers to recognize the progress of electric mobility.
This year’s theme, “Share the Spark,” emphasizes collaboration as the key to accelerating the shift to zero-emission transportation. From passenger cars to heavy-duty buses and trucks, the transition to electric mobility looks different in every country and every sector—but we all share a common goal: building cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable transportation systems.
The Center for Transportation and the Environment (CTE) is proud to be an Official Partner of World EV Day™ 2025. As part of this global campaign, CTE will highlight the progress our team and partners have made toward decarbonizing transportation across transit, school bus, freight, airports, and ports.
World EV Day™ has become the largest global emobility celebration, with support from organizations including CTE members ABB and Hyundai. Governments worldwide—from the UK to the U.S. White House to leaders in Canada and Australia—have joined in support of this movement.
In 2023 and 2024, World EV Day™ reached millions of people worldwide, generating over 200 million organic impressions on Twitter/X and becoming LinkedIn’s fourth largest sustainability campaign.
CTE is excited to stand alongside our partners in sharing the spark this year and continuing to drive the transition to zero-emission vehicles forward.
