CTE Newsletter: December 2022

December 7, 2022

From the Director's Desk

CTE has been responding to public funding opportunities on behalf of our membership for nearly 30 years. I believe our experience and expertise in proposal development and grant writing is unmatched in the industry. The financial awards generated from writing winning proposals not only support CTE’s mission, but also play a critical role in our members’ success.

Over the past year, CTE has shared more than 200 opportunities with our membership for their consideration. The opportunities have come mostly from various public agencies, including the U.S. Department of Energy, Federal Transit Administration, California Air Resources Board, California Energy Commission, and local transit agencies, among others. Of note, CTE supported more transit agencies than ever in FY2022 in applying to the record funding available from FTA for the Low or No Emission Vehicle (Low-No) Program. Historically, agencies that have partnered with CTE on Low-No proposals have enjoyed a success rate of approximately 50 percent, more than double the success rate of those that have bid without CTE. That trend continued in 2022 with agencies that partnered with CTE winning 27 of the 52 proposals we helped to submit.

CTE’s overall win rate on proposals submitted in 2022 was approximately 44 percent. For those reading this that submit grants in the public space, I am sure you will agree that this is an extremely impressive number. It is a number I am extremely proud of.

In 2023, CTE plans to significantly expand our grant writing team to match the ever-expanding clean energy and transportation markets. For more information on Grant Writing as a Service, please contact our Director of Grants, Wendy Morgan at [email protected].
